Privacy Policy

Pet Doodle, operated by Aster Studio, a sole proprietorship based in Ontario, Canada, is built to collect as little as possible. There are no accounts and no logins. This policy explains what happens to your photo and data.

What we collect

• The photo you upload. Used only to check it’s an animal and to draw your doodle.
• The doodles we generate from your photo, held briefly so you can download them after paying.
• Your email address (entered at Stripe checkout when you buy). We use it to email you your download link and any order confirmation, and we keep a basic order record so we can support you.
• A shipping address, only if you order a printed product, so the item can be made and mailed to you.
• A style preference stored in your own browser (which backdrop you picked). It never leaves your device.
• Basic technical data such as your IP address, used transiently to apply rate limits and keep the service secure.
• Usage and advertising analytics via Google Analytics and the TikTok pixel (see below), to understand how the site is used and to measure which of our posts and ads bring people here.

Payment details (card numbers, billing info) go directly to Stripe. We never see or store them.

Analytics & cookies

We use Google Analytics to measure aggregate, anonymous usage. For example, how many people reach the preview or complete a purchase, so we can improve the service. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies and processes data such as your IP address and interactions under Google’s own policies. We load it, and the TikTok pixel described below, through Google Tag Manager.

We also use the TikTok pixel, which is an advertising tracker. It tells us which of our TikTok posts and ads bring people to the site and which of those visits lead to a purchase. It sets cookies and shares data such as your IP address, device and browser details, the pages you view, and whether you buy with TikTok, who process it under their own privacy and advertising policies and may use it to build advertising audiences. TikTok’s own account and app settings control how it personalizes ads to you.

You can block both trackers with your browser settings or a tracker-blocking extension, and Google Analytics also has Google’s opt-out tools. The site works fine either way, and none of this affects your order.

How your photo is used

To create your doodle, your uploaded photo is sent to third-party AI providers, Google (Gemini) and OpenAI, purely to generate the drawing. It is not used to build a profile of you, and we don’t sell it. These providers process the image under their own privacy and data-use policies.

How long we keep things

• Your uploaded photo is processed in memory and is not stored after your doodle is made.
• Finished portraits are kept for about 6 hours; once purchased as a download they and their link are retained for 7 days, or for 30 days if you place a print order (so we can fulfill it), then automatically deleted.
• Order records (your email, what you bought, and, for prints, the shipping address) are kept for up to 90 days to handle delivery, support, and refunds, then removed.

Who we share data with

We share only what’s necessary with the services that make Pet Doodle run:

• Google (Gemini) and OpenAI: to generate the doodle and verify the photo is a pet.
• Stripe: to process payments securely.
• Resend: to email you your download link and order confirmation.
• Our print-on-demand provider: only for print orders, to receive your doodle and shipping address so your item can be made and mailed to you.
• Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager: for the usage measurement described above.
• TikTok: for the advertising measurement described above, via the TikTok pixel.

We don’t sell your personal information for money. Some privacy laws treat sharing data with an advertising network, as we do with TikTok above, as a “sale” or “share”. If you would rather we didn’t, block the tracker as described above or email us and we’ll help.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card information is entered on Stripe’s secure checkout and is never transmitted to or stored by us. See Stripe’s own privacy policy for how they handle payment data.

Children

Pet Doodle isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child provided us data, contact us and we’ll remove it.

Your choices

We don’t keep your photo, and portraits auto-delete quickly, so there’s little standing data to manage. You can clear the style preference by clearing your browser storage, and opt out of analytics with your browser or a tracker blocker. To ask us to delete your order record early, or for any privacy question or request, email asterstudio9@gmail.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version.
